Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim in a private session at Perdana Putra this morning.
The meeting began at 9:30am local time on the fifth floor of the Prime Minister’s Office. It precedes a high-level bilateral session where both leaders will lead their delegations.
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, Expatriates’ Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, State Minister for Power Aninda Islam Amit, Finance Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir, Overseas Employment Adviser Mahdi Amin and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam are among Bangladesh’s team.
Talks are expected to cover trade and investment, energy, halal economy, workforce recruitment, semiconductors, agriculture, education and people-to-people links.
Afterward, the two leaders will brief the press jointly, followed by a luncheon hosted by Anwar Ibrahim for Rahman, his spouse Dr Zubaida Rahman, and the delegation.
Rahman arrived Sunday on a two-day official visit at Anwar’s invitation.
