Continuing its initiative from the previous month, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on 13 June 2026, organised a “fortnightly health camp” across seven strategic points in the capital to provide primary healthcare and monitor the physical condition of long-haul and short-distance transport drivers and helpers.
With the cooperation of various hospitals and clinics, specialist doctors are providing primary medical services at these camps established across seven traffic divisions. The service delivery points include the Airport Roundabout, Mohakhali Bus Terminal, Gabtoli Bus Stand, Kakrail, Motijheel Boys’ School Ground, Fulbaria Bus Stand, and the area adjacent to Baldha Garden.
This special initiative by the DMP aims to bring healthcare services to the doorsteps of transport workers. It has been observed that drivers and helpers are often unable to seek medical treatment despite suffering from illnesses or physical ailments due to excessive duty hours.
Since the inception of the campaign, thousands of transport workers have already received medical services from the DMP’s fortnightly “health camp”.
