The body of Bangladeshi student Nahida Sultana Bristy, killed in Florida, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on 9 May.
Her first namaz-e-janaza will be held in Tampa at 2pm (local time) on Wednesday. The repatriation is being overseen by the Bangladesh Consulate in Miami, with coordination by the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC.
Bristy, a PhD candidate in chemical engineering, and fellow Bangladeshi doctoral student Zamil Ahamed Limon, who studied geography, environmental science and policy, were both enrolled at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa Bay.
Limon’s roommate, Hisham Abughurbeh, 26, a former USF student, has been arrested in connection with their killings.
According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, Bristy’s body will depart Orlando International Airport at 8:50pm (local time) on 7 May aboard Emirates flight EK0220.
After a layover in Dubai and transfer to flight EK0582, the remains are expected to land in Dhaka at 8:40am on 9 May.
The embassy confirmed the information on Tuesday. Earlier, on 4 May, Limon’s body arrived in Dhaka.
