Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher has called upon Türkiye to invest in Bangladesh’s construction sector, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals and renewable energy sectors during a courtesy meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Şen.
The meeting took place on Tuesday at the minister’s office room in the Secretariat, where various issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Taher said Bangladesh and Türkiye share a long-standing friendly relationship, noting that Bangladesh aims to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2035.
“The government is working towards achieving that goal for the country’s economic development. Our business-friendly investment policy has created an extremely favourable environment for foreign companies to invest,” the minister added.
The Turkish Ambassador, referring to the long-standing relationship between the two countries, said Turkey has a very strong relationship with Bangladesh in various fields, including mutual cooperation, partnership and business.
“There are opportunities to further expand the scope of investment and mutual development in Bangladesh,” Şen said.
On this occasion, the ambassador invited the Housing and Public Works Minister to attend the “Türkiye Construction Summit 2026” to be held in Turkey in June.
