Bangladesh Marine Academy Alumni Association (BMAAA) has named Md Shakhawat Hossain as president and Md Mahbubur Rahman as general secretary for the 2026–2027 term.
The announcement was made in a press release on Monday, reflecting members’ confidence and support.
BMAAA First Vice President M A Fasihur Rahman, Vice President Md Golam Sarwar, Treasurer Faisal Al Asaduzzaman, and Assistant General Secretary Md Golam Jilani were elected to other key posts.
Ten members from different batches were also elected as executive members, bringing experience and professional expertise to the organisation.
Established in 1962, Bangladesh Marine Academy Chattogram has built a strong alumni base contributing to the economy through foreign currency earnings and leadership roles at home and abroad.
Many alumni hold senior positions in government, private, and international organisations, working across offshore and onshore sectors and supporting maritime and industrial development.
The newly elected committee expressed gratitude to voters and alumni for their support.
They said they aim to strengthen organisational activities, enhance member connectivity, and build a strong global platform.
They added that expanding membership, strengthening collaboration, and upholding the academy’s heritage and values will remain key priorities.
BMAAA has long played a role in connecting marine professionals and supporting the development of the sector.
