Chasing 166, Hasini Perera fell early for 5. Imesha Dulani made 8. Captain Chamari Athapaththu led from the front. She scored 40 from 39 balls with eight fours. She set the tone with her attacking shots.
The key moment came in the middle. Harshitha Samarawickrama and Hansima Karunaratne added 77 runs for the fourth wicket. This stand took the game away from Bangladesh. Samarawickrama made 50. Karunaratne scored 40. Kawya Kavindi added 4 runs.
In the end, Kavisha Dilhari and Nilakshi de Silva stayed calm. They finished the chase and sealed the win.
For Bangladesh, Nahida Akter was the best bowler. She took four wickets. Sultana Khatun and Ritu Moni took one each.
Earlier, Bangladesh chose to bat first after winning the toss. But the start was poor. Juairiya Ferdous scored 2. Sharmin Akhter got out for 0. The team lost early wickets and came under pressure.
