Federico Gatti came off the bench to rescue Juventus as they held AC Milan to a 1-1 draw in Serie A on Monday.

Teenager Alphadjo Cisse gave Milan the lead at the Allianz Stadium in Turin before Gatti struck late to earn Juventus a point.

The result left both teams on seven points after three matches. Milan sit fourth, while Juventus are fifth on goals scored.

Neither side could find a breakthrough in the first half, but Milan finally took the lead in the 69th minute.

Samuel Chukwueze played a crossfield pass towards Cisse inside the box. The 19-year-old controlled the ball with a fine touch before quickly making room for a shot.

Cisse then fired low into the far corner to put Milan ahead.

It was his second Serie A goal after he also scored on his debut against Torino on the opening day of the season.

Milan looked set to leave Turin with all three points, but Juventus found their answer late in the game.

Teun Koopmeiners sent a cross into the box from the left. Gatti rose above the Milan defence and powered his header into the net to make it 1-1.

The defender’s goal ensured Juventus avoided their first league defeat of the season and kept them level on points with Milan after the opening three rounds.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Frosinone beat Venezia 3-2 after Giorgi Kvernadze scored the winner seven minutes from time.

Antonio Raimondo scored twice in the first half to give Frosinone a two-goal lead. Venezia fought back through John Yeboah and Richie Sagrado, but Kvernadze struck late to secure the win.

Bologna also fought back twice to earn a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo.

Josh Doig and Vasilije Adzic put Sassuolo ahead on separate occasions. Roberto Piccoli scored Bologna’s first equaliser before Artem Dovbyk struck in added time to rescue a point.

Monza and Parma also shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Teenager Jay Robinson put Monza ahead before 18-year-old Simone Lontani equalised for Parma in the second half.
