The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested Major (retd) Khandaker Abdul Hafiz over alleged involvement in anti-state activities and the Pilkhana carnage.
He was arrested from the capital’s Banani area late on Saturday night.
According to police sources, Hafiz was arrested over reported involvement in various anti-state activities, conspiracy in the Pilkhana carnage, and collusion with the killers.
Following his arrest, the retired major was taken to the DB office on Minto Road, where he is currently being interrogated.
