Army Chief Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman left for Malaysia on a four-day official visit on 19 April, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.

During the tour, he visited the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security Asia (NATSEC Asia) 2026 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur on 20 April, representing Prime Minister and Defence Minister Tarique Rahman.

The exhibition, one of the largest of its kind in Asia, is showcasing modern defence systems, electronic warfare technologies, security solutions and combat equipment.

The army chief is scheduled to attend the 8th Putrajaya Forum on 21 April, where discussions will focus on the impact of emerging technologies on security and regional stability in the ASEAN region, along with issues related to integrated cooperation and strategic policies.

He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with relevant Malaysian representatives during the visit.

The tour is likely to contribute to strengthening regional relations and security cooperation, the release added.
