Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam (Rita) has stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness at all airports across the country to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers.
She instructed the relevant authorities to take immediate measures to spray insecticides in and around the airport areas to control mosquitoes.
The minister issued these directives while addressing a review meeting on the implementation progress of the Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) for January of the 2025-26 fiscal year, held at the ministry’s conference room on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat emphasised that resolving the trolley crisis at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is essential for improving passenger service standards.
He underscored the need to initiate the procurement of 1,000 new trolleys at the earliest possible time.
Furthermore, the State Minister called upon all concerned to work in a coordinated manner to ensure that passengers can travel smoothly without any form of harassment.
Both the minister and the state minister provided necessary instructions to the relevant officials to ensure that ongoing development projects are completed within their stipulated deadlines.
The meeting was also attended by Nasreen Jahan, secretary of the Ministry; Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority; and other senior officials.
