Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, along with judges from both the Appellate Division and the High Court Division of Supreme Court, paid tributes to the martyrs of the historic 1952 Language Movement on Saturday.
The tributes were paid by placing wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar at 6am, to mark International Mother Language Day.
After the placement of the wreaths, the chief justice and the judges of Supreme Court stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect for the memories of language martyrs.
The supreme sacrifice and contributions of the Language Movement heroes were remembered with deep respect.
