A Dhaka court on Thursday set 26 February as the new date for submission of further investigation report in the murder case of Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for Inqilab Mancha.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam fixed the date after Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the agency currently tasked with this probe, failed to submit the report on the scheduled day.

Previously, on 6 January, the initial investigating officer, DB Inspector Faisal Ahmed, had submitted a charge sheet against 17 individuals before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Of the accused, 11 are currently in prison, while the remaining six are fugitives.

However, the plaintiff expressed dissatisfaction with the findings and filed a “naraji” (no-confidence) petition on 15 January. Upon accepting the petition, the court directed CID to conduct a more thorough investigation into the killing.
