Khalilur Rahman, former National Security Adviser to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, is set to join the new Cabinet as a technocrat minister.
While his name is included in a list of ministers obtained by TIMES of Bangladesh, his specific ministerial assignment has not yet been confirmed.
Since this morning, there has been widespread speculation on social media that Khalilur may be appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his previous capacity within the interim government, Khalilur also served as the High Representative on Rohingya issues. A veteran diplomat, he belongs to the first batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) and joined the foreign service cadre in 1979.
