A clash broke out on Thursday morning between supporters of the BNP and an independent candidate backing the football symbol in Durgapur Upazila, Rajshahi-5.
The incident occurred at 8:50am outside Noapara Government Primary School polling centre.
Eyewitnesses said the confrontation began when Rezamul Karim, the independent candidate for the football symbol, arrived at the polling centre and exchanged words with supporters of BNP candidate Nazrul Islam Mondal.
The argument quickly escalated into pushing and scuffling between the two groups.
No serious injuries were reported. Police and army personnel arrived at the scene shortly after and brought the situation under control. The environment around the polling centre has since returned to calm.
