The Bangladesh Army arrested SM Galib Imteaz Nahid, a central leader of Swechchhasebak Dal, during a raid in the Taltala area of Savar early Monday.
Apart from Nahid, two more people- Masud Rana Alvi and Rabiul Awal Babu were held.
The army conducted the drive around 5:30am and recovered three foreign pistols, 13 local weapons, and a quantity of ammunition from his possession.
Nahid is the joint general secretary of the Swechchhasebak Dal Central Committee.
According to local sources, this is not the first time Nahid has been in custody. Several years ago, he was arrested by law enforcement agencies from a residential hotel in the Radio Colony area of Savar, where he was found in possession of firearms and accompanied by a woman.
