Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Maj Gen Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui has inspected election base camps in the Chattogram constituencies to monitor the overall law and order and security situation ahead of the upcoming 13th Parliamentary Election.
The BGB chief visited the election base camps established at Raozan Salamat Ullah High School under Chattogram-6 constituency and Fatikchhari Technical School and College under Chattogram-2 constituency on Sunday.
During the visit, he exchanged views with BGB members deployed at the camps and provided various directions regarding the discharge of election duties with professionalism, sincerity, and neutrality.
Later, the director general held meetings with relevant officials from the local Army, Police, and civil administration.
He stated that Border Guard Bangladesh, as a professional, disciplined, and politically neutral force, is fully prepared to perform all duties assigned for the 13th Parliamentary Election.
Ashrafuzzaman further emphasised that the BGB would work in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies to ensure that voters can cast their ballots in a safe, peaceful, and fearless environment.
Senior officials from BGB Headquarters, the BGB Chattogram Region Commander, and other officers were present during the inspection.
