BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit three districts in northern Bangladesh today as part of the party’s ongoing election campaign.
According to party sources, Tarique Rahman will first address an election rally at 11:30am on Saturday at the Thakurgaon Government Boys’ High School ground.
Extensive preparations have been completed at the venue, while party leaders and activists have expressed enthusiasm ahead of his arrival.
Grassroots supporters have already begun gathering, and stringent security measures have been put in place across the town.
Following the Thakurgaon programme, he will attend a second election rally at 1pm at the ground of Nilphamari Municipality.
He is later scheduled to address a public meeting at the Birampur Government College ground in Dinajpur.
This follows his first phase of campaigning on 29 January, when Tarique Rahman traveled by road through northern Bangladesh, holding rallies in Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Bogura.
The campaign continued on 30 January in Rangpur and on 31 January in Sirajganj and Tangail.
Earlier, on 22 January, Tarique Rahman launched his campaign in Sylhet, followed by rallies in Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi, and Narayanganj.
This second round of rallies marks an important part of BNP’s ongoing election campaign as they gear up for the upcoming general elections.
