The Bangladesh Football Federation has planned a grand welcome for the SAFF Women’s Futsal champions. The celebration will include an open top bus parade through the city and a formal reception at Hatirjheel. Senior federation officials will receive the players at the airport before the procession begins.
The celebration comes after another historic success for Bangladesh women’s football. Over the years, the women footballers have earned a special place in the hearts of the nation. From past triumphs to the latest title, every big success has brought scenes of joy and pride.
Bangladesh won the SAFF Women’s Futsal title in style at Nonthaburi Stadium in Bangkok. They beat Maldives 14 to 2 in the final. It was the first SAFF Women’s Futsal title in history. Under the leadership of captain Sabina Khatun, the team showed clear dominance on the indoor court.
The champions will land in Dhaka at 6:15 pm on Thursday. They will return from Thailand on a flight operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines. After the airport reception, the players will travel in a specially decorated open top bus.
The bus will move through city roads before reaching the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre. A colourful ceremony with lights and stage arrangements will take place there to honour the team.
While the men’s team left Bangkok earlier, the women stayed back for two more days. During that time, they received their victory bonus and visited several tourist spots in the city under the guidance of team manager Imran. The players have now recovered from fatigue and are eager to return home.
The open top bus parade has become a symbol of success for Bangladesh women’s football. This team has proved that whether on grass or on an indoor court, the red and green now stand strong in South Asia. Thousands of fans are expected to line the roads from the airport to Hatirjheel to welcome the champions home.
