MetLife Bangladesh has settled insurance claims worth Tk2,853 crore in 2025, reaffirming its position as one of the country’s leading life insurers in claims settlement.
The amount includes payments made to customers as insurance benefits, including claims related to loss of life and medical needs, the company said in a press release.
The company maintained a claims settlement ratio of 98 per cent during the year, one of the highest in the industry.
Of the total claims settled, Tk313 crore was paid in health and medical claims, Tk110 crore in death claims, and Tk2,430 crore in maturity, partial maturity and other claims.
MetLife Bangladesh said it continues to settle the highest volume of claims among life insurers in the country. The company settled Tk2,895 crore in claims in 2024, Tk2,981 crore in 2023 and Tk2,548 crore in 2022.
MetLife Bangladesh CEO Ala Ahmad said the company remains focused on standing beside customers when they need support the most.
He said timely and transparent claims settlement plays a crucial role in strengthening confidence in the insurance sector, adding that MetLife Bangladesh’s consistent track record reflects its commitment to building greater trust in the overall industry.
Customers of MetLife Bangladesh can submit claims through a digital process and receive payments within three to five working days, the company said.
MetLife Bangladesh currently serves around 1 million individual customers and more than 900 corporate clients across the country.
