BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Tangail on Saturday to address a public rally ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election. He will deliver a speech as the chief guest at the event, organised at the Darun Charjana Bypass area in Tangail town.
On Wednesday, Sultan Salauddin Tuku, inspected key locations in the town before finalising the Darun Charjana Bypass area as the rally venue.
Chairman’s Security Force (CSF) were also present during the inspection.
Speaking to journalists, Tuku confirmed that all necessary preparations for the rally had been completed.
“A mass wave in favour of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ has been created in Tangail, and we are optimistic that this rally will witness a historic gathering,” he remarked.
He added that the people of Tangail are eagerly awaiting the leader’s address, which will provide guidelines on how Bangladesh will be governed in the future. Tuku expressed confidence that the rally would further strengthen the party’s path to electoral victory.
According to party sources, Tarique Rahman’s visit to Tangail marks the final leg of his tour of northern districts, starting with a visit to Rajshahi on 29 January. The Tangail rally, organised by the District BNP, is scheduled to begin at 2pm.
Extensive security measures, including stage construction, crowd management, and discipline, have been put in place. District BNP leaders have confirmed coordination with law enforcement agencies to ensure necessary security arrangements.
The announcement of Tarique Rahman’s visit has sparked a festive atmosphere among BNP and affiliated organisation activists since Wednesday morning.
Leaders and workers across the district’s eight parliamentary constituencies have expressed significant enthusiasm and excitement regarding the Chairman’s upcoming visit.
