AKS Diagnostics has launched a special cleanliness drive in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram, aiming to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment across the area.
Under the initiative, cleaning workers will regularly collect garbage from key locations, including major haat and bazaar areas throughout the upazila.
The program was formally inaugurated on Wednesday at Rangunia Roazarhat Bazar.
BNP-nominated MP candidate for the Rangunia constituency, Hummam Quader Chowdhury, attended the event as the chief guest. AKS Khan Healthcare Ltd Managing Director Samanzar Khan, among others, also addressed the gathering.
Launched under the slogan “Clean Rangunia, We Will Build It This Time,” the initiative will engage a total of 70 cleaning workers, including 50 women. To support the programme, AKS Diagnostics has initially provided 600 waste bins and 20 vehicles for use in various haats, bazaars, and other important areas of the upazila.
Speaking as the chief guest, Hummam Quader Chowdhury said that while addressing major social problems such as drug abuse may take time, keeping the environment clean is an achievable goal in the short term. He expressed hope that the initiative would gradually expand to every haat and bazaar in Rangunia.
Samanzar Khan, managing director of AKS Healthcare Ltd, said it is a civic responsibility to make Rangunia an ideal, clean, and livable town. He called upon local residents to come forward and cooperate to ensure a green and healthy Rangunia for future generations.
