The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices once again. This time, the price of 22‑carat gold has been raised by Tk 5,249 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk 244,128 per bhori.
The revised price will take effect from Wednesday, according to a press release of BAJUS.
BAJUS announced the decision in the release on Tuesday night. It stated that the price of pure gold (acid gold) has risen in the market, and therefore, considering the overall situation, new rates have been fixed.
According to the updated prices, the best quality 22‑carat gold will cost Tk244,128 per bhori, 21‑carat gold will cost Tk232,988 per bhori, 18‑carat gold will cost Tk199,746 per bhori, traditional method gold will cost Tk163,821 per bhori.
Alongside gold, silver prices have also increased. The 22‑carat silver will cost Tk6,590 per bhori, 21‑carat silver will cost Tk5,299 per bhori, 18‑carat silver will cost Tk5,424 per bhori, and traditional method silver will cost Tk 4,082 per bhori.
With the latest gold price, the current gold price has reached the highest level in the country’s history.
On 20 January, BAJUS last adjusted gold prices. At that time, the price of 22‑carat gold was raised by Tk4,199 per bhori, setting the rate at Tk238,879 per bhori.
