The National Citizen Party has announced a series of programmes to secure a ‘yes’ vote in the upcoming February referendum.
As part of the plan, the party has decided to appoint ‘NCP ambassadors’ or representatives in 270 parliamentary constituencies where it does not have its own candidates.
The information was confirmed on Sunday in a statement issued by Mahabub Alam, joint chief coordinator of the NCP and head of its election media sub-committee.
He said the representatives will establish direct contact with people at the local level and highlight the importance of the referendum, the NCP’s political position, and the necessity of voting ‘yes’. He said the special initiative has been taken to ensure that the party’s message reaches voters clearly in those constituencies even where the party does not have candidates.
Meanwhile, in constituencies where the NCP has its own candidates, extensive campaigning will be carried out under the leadership of the respective candidates to ensure a ‘yes’ vote in the referendum.
In those constituencies, the candidates will lead the campaign by maintaining direct contact with party activists, supporters, and general voters.
Mahabub Alam said it is essential to convey the party’s position to the public in every constituency, whether or not the party has a candidate there. He said the decision to appoint ambassadors has been taken to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive campaign across the country.
