Chattogram Royals have been hit by a setback in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League. Wicketkeeper batter Adam Rossington will miss the rest of the tournament. The team is now searching for a replacement as they aim to stay strong in the points table race.
Rossington suffered an injury to his little finger while batting against Rajshahi Warriors. The incident took place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on 9 January. After medical checks, he was ruled out of the remaining matches. He will return home for further treatment.
Before the injury, Rossington was in fine form for Chattogram. He scored 258 runs in six matches. His average of 64.50 is the highest in the tournament so far. He also maintained a strike rate of 139.45, which helped the team gain early control in many games.
Rossington also made history behind the stumps. In the ninth match of the season against the Dhaka Capitals, he completed four stumpings. It is the highest number of stumpings by a wicketkeeper in a single Bangladesh Premier League match.
