The Chhayanaut Victory Festival 2025 was held on Tuesday, 16 December, marking the first day of Poush in the Bangla calendar. The programme took place at the Abahani Club Ground in Dhanmondi and began at 3:50 pm.
The event opened with the hoisting of the national flag by Chhayanaut president Dr Sarwar Ali and Deepto Television managing director Kazi Jahedul Hasan. They were joined by Chhayanaut vice-president Khairul Anam Shakil and general secretary Laisa Ahmed Lisa. The opening ceremony concluded with a collective rendition of the national anthem.
This year’s festival featured a series of musical and dance performances reflecting the spirit of the Liberation War and Victory Day. The programme included five ensemble dance pieces, two ensemble songs, one solo song and a solo recitation.
Renowned singer Chandana Majumdar performed the solo song ‘Ami Daam Diye Kinechhi Bangla’, while reciter Jayanta Roy presented ‘Batase Lash-er Gondho Pai’. The ensemble dance performances were set to songs evoking courage, patience, sacrifice and remembrance of the millions of martyrs who laid down their lives during the war of independence.
The festival concluded at 4:31pm with the singing of the national anthem.
The programme was broadcast live on Deepto Television and streamed simultaneously on Chhayanaut’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel, allowing audiences across the country and abroad to take part in the Victory Day celebrations.
