The identity of the teenager who climbed onto the roof of a metro train at Dhaka’s Secretariat Station has been confirmed. His name is Yasin.
According to officials, Yasin boarded the train from Agargaon after purchasing a ticket around 8 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival at Secretariat Station, he was seen hanging from the coupling hook between two coaches before climbing onto the roof moments later.
The boy accompanying him fled. Metro rail security personnel immediately switched off the power supply and safely brought Yasin down from the roof. Following the incident, metro services were temporarily suspended on Sunday night and resumed on Monday morning.
According to media reports, DMTCL sources said the detained teenager is believed to be about 13 or 14 years old.
