The International Crimes Tribunal has dismissed a petition filed by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) President Hasanul Haq Inu, who sought reconsideration of the order framing charges in a crimes against humanity case.
On Sunday, the two-member International Crimes Tribunal-2, headed by Justice Md Manjurul Basit, passed the order.
The tribunal set Monday for recording testimony of the witnesses in the case filed over the killing of seven people during last year’s July Uprising in Kushtia.
Prosecutor Abdus Sobhan Tarafdar has concluded the opening statement.
Inu was arrested on 26 August, 2024 in Dhaka’s Uttara area and remains in jail. Inu was charged with issuing the command to kill six people in Kushtia after communicating with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the uprising.
He contested the 12th national election as a coalition candidate, was defeated in his home constituency in Kushtia by a rebel candidate from the Awami League, whose activities are banned now.
