The hearing of cases against two more army officers at the International Crimes Tribunal will take place on Monday.

The accused are Lt Col Mohammad Redwanul Islam and Maj Md Rafat-bin-Alam. Sources indicate the two arrested officers may be produced before the tribunal on Monday morning.

These two officers are among four accused in a case concerning crimes against humanity committed in Rampura during the July-August mass uprising. Monday is the scheduled date for the hearing in this case, which was fixed by International Crimes Tribunal-1 on 26 October.

The case involves allegations of the killing of 28 people in Rampura on 18 and 19 July last year.

Lt Col Mohammad Redwanul Islam and Maj Md Rafat-bin-Alam were produced before the tribunal on 22 October alongside 13 other army officers. The tribunal had subsequently sent them to jail, and they are currently held in a sub-jail at Dhaka Cantonment.

The hearing for the 13 other officers was held on Sunday, during which they were produced before the tribunal.
