The implementation rate of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) rose to 8.33% in the first four months of FY2025–26, up from 7.90% in the same period last year, even as spending fell by Tk2,100 crore, according to data released on Thursday.
The Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) said ministries and divisions spent Tk19,987 crore between July and October, down from Tk21,978 crore in FY2024–25.
The government has allocated over Tk2.38 lakh crore for the current fiscal year’s ADP.
Bangladesh has been in an austerity in the development budget since the Ukraine War-triggered economic challenges, while its weakness in ADP implementation continues post political regime change last year.
