In a significant administrative reshuffle, the government has announced the appointment of new divisional commissioners for four major divisions: Khulna, Rajshahi, Barishal, and Mymensingh.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette to this effect on Thursday.
As per the notification, Md Mokhter Ahmed, who was serving as the divisional commissioner of Mymensingh, has been transferred Khulna division.
Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid, currently holding the position of additional secretary at the Ministry of Water Resources, has been named the new divisional commissioner of Rajshahi.
Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, an additional secretary from the Ministry of Land, has been appointed as the divisional commissioner of Barishal.
The post of divisional commissioner in Mymensingh, left vacant by the transfer of Md Mokhter Ahmed, will be filled by Farah Shammi, the chairman of the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation.
