A total of 50,317 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia through 127 flights thus far.

The data was confirmed by Md Lokman Hossain, Director of the Hajj Office under the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Monday, says BSS.

However, eight pilgrims have reportedly passed away since the beginning of the pilgrimage.

Of those who have reached Saudi Arabia, 4,583 are traveling under government management, while 45,321 are under private management.

This year, a total of 5,062 pilgrims are registered under the government’s Hajj program and 81,121 under private arrangements.

The first Hajj flight departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on April 29. Outbound flights are scheduled to continue until May 31.

This year’s Hajj is expected to take place on June 5, depending on the sighting of the moon. Return flights for Bangladeshi pilgrims are set to commence on June 10 and conclude on July 10.
