State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed has highlighted the potential for opening Oman’s labour market to Bangladeshi workers as a key measure to bolster economic ties between the two nations.
The proposal was discussed when Sultanate of Oman’s Royal Family Member Al Sayyid Mohammed Salim Ali Al Said paid a courtesy call on the state minister on Wednesday to explore ways to further strengthen Bangladesh–Oman economic relations.
In response, Al Sayyid appreciated the valuable contribution of Bangladeshi workers to Oman’s development and economic activities.
He further noted that there is considerable scope for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
Chargé d’Affaires of Oman to Bangladesh Fathia Ahmed Al Balushi and other delegation members were present during the call.
