Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team restricted Afghanistan to 258 runs in the fourth Youth ODI of their five-match series, with pacer Iqbal Hossain Emon delivering a brilliant spell to claim six wickets. The series is currently level at 1-1 after Bangladesh won the opening match by the DLS method, the second was washed out by rain, and Afghanistan secured a 102-run victory in the third.
Emon was the standout performer for Bangladesh, taking 6 wickets for 51 runs to dismantle the Afghan batting order. He came close to a seventh wicket, but Rafiuzzaman Rafi dropped a catch off Wahidullah Zadran in the final over.
Said Islam supported well with two wickets, while Sadhin Islam took one. For Afghanistan, Faisal Khan played a lone hand with a superb 112 off 116 balls, while Uzairullah Niazi contributed 72 from 100 deliveries.
However, the rest of the Afghan lineup struggled to build partnerships, and the innings came to an end when Jaytullah Shaheen was run out on the third ball of the final over. The result gives Bangladesh a strong position in the series, with the final matches set to decide the winner.
