A delegation from the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Ali Azadi, has visited Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
The delegation included IIUC Faculty of Business Studies Dean and Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Director Prof Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan. The visit took place on 3 November 2025.
The IIUC team was welcomed by USIM Vice-Chancellor Prof Dato’ Ts Sharifudin Md Shaarani at his office.
Senior USIM officials were also present, including Assoc Prof Sofia Hayati Yusoff, Director of USIM ‘Alamiyyah (International Affairs); Assoc Prof Norhayati Rafida Abdur Rahim, Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation), Faculty of Leadership and Management; Dr Khairul Asyraf Mohd Nathir, Deputy Director of USIM ‘Alamiyyah; Assoc Prof Md Yousuf Ali, Faculty of Leadership and Management; Assoc Prof Nurulwahidah Fauzi, International Coordinator, Faculty of Quran and Sunnah; Dr Tazul Islam; and Zaharah Zainal Abidin, Deputy Registrar, USIM ‘Alamiyyah.
During the meeting, the USIM vice-chancellor expressed appreciation that under the memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the two universities, ten IIUC faculty members have completed their PhD programmes, three have completed their viva voce examinations, and several others are nearing completion out of 29 current students.
A separate coordination meeting was also held between Prof Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Khan and representatives from various USIM faculties to discuss academic matters related to IIUC PhD students and preparations for the upcoming IIUC-organised international conference, ICBIID 2026, scheduled for January 2026.
The USIM Vice-Chancellor thanked the IIUC delegation for their continued collaboration, saying that the partnership would further strengthen academic ties between the two institutions in the future.
