The government has appointed new Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) in 77 upazilas across eight divisions.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued eight notifications on Monday in this regard.
According to the notifications, among the newly appointed UNOs, 18 are in Dhaka division, 4 in Barishal, 7 in Chattogram, 12 in Khulna, 11 in Rangpur, 14 in Rajshahi, 8 in Sylhet, and 3 in Mymensingh.
Appointed officers are required to report to their new postings by 4 December. Those who fail to comply will be considered immediately released from their current positions, including ongoing training programmes, effective from the afternoon of the same day.
Earlier, on 26 November, 166 UNOs were appointed across the country. With the latest batch, a total of 243 upazilas now have new UNOs ahead of the elections.
According to ministry officials, the reshuffle is part of efforts to reorganise the field administration ahead of the national elections scheduled for February next year.
