Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 436 people and filed 58 cases during its routine drive across the capital in the last 24 hours.
According to DMP, 99 people were arrested from Mirpur division, 63 from Wari, 56 from, 55 from Gulshan, 52 from Tejgaon, 41 from Motijhee, 31 from Lalbagh, and 26 from Ramna.
The Detective Branch of DMP arrested five people and the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP arrested eight people during the operation.
Police recovered 11,127 pieces of Yaba, 55.430 kg of cannabis, 3.4 grams of heroin, 550 bottles of Escaf, and 20 litres of local liquor.
Police also seized 22 mobile phones, 24 SIM cards, Tk17,800 in cash, a microbus, and a private car.
Furthermore, two victims were rescued during the operations.
The drives were conducted across different police station areas in the capital to recover narcotics and apprehend suspects.
Legal proceedings against the arrested people are underway.
