The Bangladesh Army has carried out a series of joint operations across the country, arresting 278 suspected criminals, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.
From 16 January to 22 January 2026, various infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, conducted targeted operations in Dhaka and other regions.
The operations led to the capture of terrorists, drug traffickers, drug addicts, robbers, juvenile gang members, and thieves.
According to a press release, authorities recovered 22 illegal firearms, 822 rounds of ammunition, seven grenades, as well as homemade weapons and narcotics. The arrested suspects were handed over to the respective police stations for questioning and legal action.
The army has also been maintaining regular patrols and security operations nationwide to ensure public safety.
Units have been actively deployed to manage labour unrest in industrial areas and maintain peace.
The Bangladesh Army emphasised that such operations will continue to uphold law and order.
Citizens are urged to report any suspicious or unusual activities to the nearest army camp immediately.
