Two newly elected lawmakers from Sherpur and Bogura were sworn in Sunday in the presence of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, administered the oath to Mahmudul Haque Rubel (Sherpur‑3 constituency) and Rezaul Karim Badsha (Bogura‑6 constituency) at his office in the parliament around noon.
Afterward, the MPs signed the oath book as per parliamentary procedure.
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, and Whips Miah Nuruddin Ahmad Apu and ABM Ashraf Uddin attended the ceremony.
Elections were held on 12 February in 299 out of 300 constituencies, with Sherpur‑3 postponed due to a candidate’s death.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, elected from both Dhaka‑17 and Bogura‑6, later vacated Bogura‑6. The elections in both constituencies were held on 9 April.
The Election Commission published the gazette of winners Rubel and Badsha on Saturday.
Earlier, on 17 February, MPs from 297 constituencies took oath. With the latest ceremony, 298 MPs have now been sworn in. Results for Chattogram‑2 and Chattogram‑4 remain pending due to court directives on candidacy disputes.
