Samsung captured the highest share of global smartphone shipments in the first half of 2026 at 21.8 per cent, according to data published by Counterpoint Research, said a press release on Monday.
Apple ranked second with 20.9 per cent, followed by Xiaomi at 11.4 per cent, OPPO at 10.3 per cent and vivo at 7.6 per cent.
The global smartphone market contracted 7 per cent year-on-year in Q2 2026, impacted by rising component costs and macroeconomic pressures. Within that environment, Samsung achieved 9 per cent year-on-year growth in shipments, attributed in the report to “favorable pricing and competitive dynamics.”
