Police have arrested two men along with a consignment of drugs in Chuadanga. A private car used for transporting narcotics has also been seized.
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter in a press release on Tuesday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Alim Hossain and Jony.
According to police, Alim and Jony were heading towards Patuakhali in a private car, carrying the banned Indian substance ‘Fairdil’. A team from the District Detective Branch (DB) conducted a drive and arrested the two drug traffickers along with the vehicle. Upon searching the car, 576 bottles of Fairdil were recovered.
SP added that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act. The arrested individuals will be produced before the court. The market value of the recovered drugs is around Tk14 lakh.
