Another 175 Bangladeshi nationals returned home from Libya on Thursday.
They arrived in Dhaka at 8am on a chartered flight operated by Burak Air, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The repatriation was coordinated by the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and the International Organization for Migration.
The returnees had been staying in Libya without valid documents.
Most had travelled there intending to reach Europe through irregular routes with the help of human traffickers, officials said.
Several of them reported experiencing abduction and abuse during their stay.
Officials of the foreign ministry and the International Organization for Migration received the returnees at the airport and urged them to share their experiences to raise public awareness.
Each returnee was provided with travel allowance, food, basic medical care and temporary shelter by the International Organization for Migration.
