The government has reshuffled 14 senior police officers holding the ranks of deputy inspector general (DIG), additional DIG and superintendent of police.
The transfer order, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday, involves officers currently serving in several key units, including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Police Training Centres (PTC) and the Tourist Police.
Among those moved are two DIG-ranked officials. DIG of Dhaka CID SM Fazlur Rahman has been posted to the Police Telecom Unit at Rajarbagh, retaining his rank.
Another DIG, Md Sazzadur Rahman, has been transferred to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
In addition, CID Additional DIG Raihan Uddin Khan has been appointed as joint police commissioner (additional DIG) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
