BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has announced an ambitious 11-point pledge aimed at the development of the Bandar, Patenga, and Sadrghat areas of Chattogram.
Speaking at a press conference in Chattogram on Monday, Khosru revealed his election manifesto under the theme “11 for 11”, outlining the specific promises he plans to fulfil if elected in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
The 11-point vision focuses on essential infrastructure and civic amenities for the area. Khosru pledged to construct a modern 1,200-bed hospital to ensure adequate healthcare for local residents.
He also committed to generating employment opportunities and establishing a robust law and order system to maintain safety in the constituency.
Addressing the acute water crisis, he promised to eliminate waterlogging and resolve traffic congestion. Further, Khosru vowed to tackle environmental and air pollution while constructing sustainable and safe roads. Additionally, he outlined plans for the modernisation of the port system, providing integrated civic services, and implementing planned, modern urbanisation.
Khosru emphasised that these pledges were not just electoral slogans but represented a “strong commitment” from the BNP. He also outlined plans to transform Chattogram Airport into a dedicated passenger-cum-cargo hub.
He stressed the importance of increasing the efficiency of Chattogram Port to meet global standards, saying, “When foreigners come to Bangladesh, they want to know the delivery time of the port. We must increase efficiency and make it world-competitive in the coming days.”
The press conference was attended by Israfil Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP International Affairs Subcommittee; Nazimur Rahman, Member Secretary of Chattogram City BNP; and Abul Hashem Bakkar, former Member Secretary.
