Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has approved a proposal to change the name of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The force will now be called the Special Intervention Force (SIF). Their activities under the new name will begin once the gazette notification is issued.
The decision was announced on Tuesday after a core committee meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs, said Home Affairs Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
He also said that RAB’s uniform will be changed.
