Bangladeshi actor Pori Moni has delighted fans on social media after Argentina booked their place in the FIFA World Cup final, joking that England captain Harry Kane had failed to stop her from getting married again.
Celebrating Argentina’s semi-final victory on Wednesday night, the actor wrote on Facebook: “Harry Kane, you couldn’t stop my wedding!”
Her post referred to an earlier light-hearted promise she made on social media. At the time, Pori Moni wrote, “If Argentina win the World Cup, I’ll get married again. Final.”
Argentina secured a 2-1 victory over England in the semi-final to advance to the final, fuelling renewed interest among her fans in the playful declaration. The South American side will now face Spain in the World Cup final on 19 July.
Pori Moni’s personal life has attracted public attention in the past, particularly her marriage to actor Shariful Raj and their subsequent separation.
The couple secretly married on 17 October 2021, with the news becoming public in January 2022. They later welcomed a son before ending their marriage in 2023.
Harry Kane captains the England national football team and is one of its leading strikers. Pori Moni’s humorous remark came after England’s semi-final defeat to Argentina.
