West Indies are making some changes to their squad ahead of the second ODI against Bangladesh. The team plans to add more spin options for the three-match series.
As per reports from Daily Sun, experienced left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein, who was not in the original ODI squad, will join the team in Dhaka on Sunday night. Left-arm pacer Ramon Simmonds, 24, has also received his first ODI call-up after playing two T20 Internationals.
In the opening match at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, West Indies had already used three spinners: Gudakesh Motie, Khary Pierre and Roston Chase. Bangladesh got the better of the visitors, thanks to a historical 6 wicket-haul from Rishad Hossain, the leg-spinner. It is thought that the pitch will behave similarly in the second ODI as well, and hence, both teams will be counting on their spinners.
Fast bowlers Jediah Blades and Shamar Joseph, both part of the ODI setup, will return to the Caribbean.
Bangladesh had also strengthened their spin attack by adding in-form left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed to their squad.
