The reunion of Tollywood stars Dev and Subhashree Ganguly has brought back memories of their much-discussed romance, with fans excited to see the former couple share the spotlight again.
Their film ‘Desu 7’, released during Durga Puja, has become a major talking point in Bengal. The renewed attention surrounding the pair has also fuelled excitement about their on-screen chemistry and past relationship.
Soon after the first-day, first-show screening of ‘Desu 7’, Dev announced that he planned to make a film with fellow superstar Jeet. He also made a commitment to the project, promising a big-budget production. If everything goes according to plan, the two actors could appear together on the big screen during Durga Puja in 2027.
Dev and Subhashree have also drawn attention with their playful exchanges while promoting ‘Desu 7’. At the film’s trailer launch, Dev openly spoke about whom he would like to see Subhashree paired with after him.
“After me, if Subhashree looks good with anyone, it is Jeet. Of course, after me. Sorry, Jeet da, I love you too,” Dev said, prompting Subhashree Ganguly to blush.
Although the film’s release has revived memories of their romance, both actors have moved on in their personal lives.
After his relationship with Subhashree ended, Dev began dating actress Rukmini Maitra. They have been together for more than a decade, and Rukmini has also starred in several of his films.
Subhashree, meanwhile, married filmmaker Raj Chakrabarty in 2018. The couple now have two children.
Ahead of ‘Desu 7’, rumours circulated that Subhashree’s renewed closeness with Dev was creating trouble in her marriage. Raj, however, appeared to put those rumours to rest with a birthday message to Subhashree on their son Yuvaan’s sixth birthday.
In the message, he praised her as the mother who holds their family together and looks after everyone. His words offered a public reminder of their family bond amid the speculation surrounding the film’s release.
