Bangladesh’s legendary rock band Warfaze is set to leave its mark not just on music, but on memorabilia. In a move that fuses culture with collectability, the band’s iconic imagery will soon be etched onto Zippo lighters, an item that has long been synonymous with global music legends.
Finalised on August 28 at Luxco Trading’s Gulshan office, the collaboration will see two limited-edition lighters produced in the US. Each design will feature Warfaze’s album art on one side and the band’s emblem on the other, offering fans a chance to hold a piece of their history in hand. The lighters are expected to reach Bangladeshi shelves by November.
Currently celebrating 40 years with a Canada tour, Warfaze joins a rare list of artists, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and Bob Marley, whose legacies have been captured in flame by Zippo.
For band leader Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, the partnership is more than merchandise. “It’s a tribute to the journey we’ve shared with our fans. Their love has kept our fire alive, and now it’s literally symbolised in this collaboration,” he said.
Upon their return to Dhaka, the band plans a formal unveiling, promising fans more details on what could become one of the most collectible pieces in Bangladeshi rock history.
