Extensive public gatherings and severe traffic congestion are anticipated across the capital Dhaka on Saturday, centering around the funeral prayers of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. In this context, the US Embassy in Dhaka has requested its citizens to remain extra cautious and avoid large gatherings.
On Friday, the US Embassy stated in an alert that heavy traffic congestion could occur on Manik Mia Avenue and surrounding areas, as well as on various key roads in the capital, due to the events surrounding Osman Hadi’s funeral.
The alert further mentioned that even gatherings organised for peaceful purposes can sometimes become confrontational and turn violent.
Under these circumstances, US citizens are urged to avoid protests and large public gatherings, and to exercise increased caution when traveling in crowded areas.
