Britain’s Prime Minister Starmer has dismissed the possibility of deploying military forces to Iran, separating the UK from direct involvement in the hostilities.

“This is not our war and we’re not going to get drawn into it,” he said.

Starmer stated that the UK is taking “defensive action” to safeguard “British lives, British interests and, of course, our allies in the region.”

He added that Britain would continue efforts to assist in reopening the strategic waterway, but stressed: “We are not going to get dragged into this war.”

However, the UK has permitted the use of its bases by US forces for strikes against Iranian sites linked to threats in the waterway. The UK has also deployed fighter aircraft to intercept Iranian projectiles.
